I guess you could say I'm a "generalist" if you want to put a label on it. I started voice lessons and piano as a kid. I went to Arts Magnet High School in Dallas and studied voice and costume design and dabbled with set design. I'm intuative which can be pretty disruptive sometimes. I also have chromasthesia, which is super cool. I do what I want these days. I try and I fail sometimes but if I really want to accomplish something I'll just keep at it. I've got nothing to lose, just a lot of great stuff to learn. I love art and design, sewing, photography, creating and decorating my doll houses and dioramasl
I use my hands and sometimes my hands betray me. I love photography, textiles, painting with acrylics and watercolor, 3D printing, resin art, wood, tools, music, and baking. I'm actually a pretty decent baker with some impressive cakes under my belt. I'm constantly learning and willing to take constructive criticism.
I use a Canon DSLR and an iPhone for photography. My sewing machines are Juki, Pfaff, and Brother.
My inspirations are limitless. I'm so nostalgic it hurts sometimes! Memories, family, the weather, textiles, animals, music, other artists, vintage art, history, books, food, scenery, good people, bad people, fashion, talented designers, the future, the past, the present. I gravitate towards tertiary colors and patterns from the 1960s and 1970s. I'm inspired by my friends so frequently I can't count. My parents, my spouse, my amazing children the adorable spirited littles beasts that we have adopted and live in our home and run our lives. The Universe.
I want to learn guitar and re-learn the piano. I want to make a Disco album, a Post Punk album, and something very dark and moody. I want to live in the mountains but on a farm with dogs, alpaca, miniature horses and goats. I want to learn to weave rugs, needle felt, cast gemstones, build a house from start to finish, garden properly, build furniture, weld, trapeze, walk a tight rope, time travel, teleport, and clone my pets so they can be with me forever. There is more but it get's weirder and it's just too embarrassing to talk about.
